Story

Her story began while giving Link a letter from the Rito cheiftain to his son Prince Komali. Komali couldn't go up to recieve the scale from Valoo because of the desruption above, and immature as he was had no inspiration or want to recieve the scale in the first place. The chieftain worried about his son had asked Link to demonstrate what courage is and to calm down Valoo which no one knew why was upset. Medli determined and loyal tried to get onto the mountain to try herself to calm Valoo down but needed Link's help. Once she was able to get up top with the wind carrying her (and by Link guiding her there), she travelled alone into the cave, soon after Link following her. Once Link had reached the top of the mountain, Medli was trapped by some of the monsters there, once saving her and releasing her she gives Link something the Rito tribe used before they recieved their wings, a grappling hook. From there she flew off to tell the others of what was occuring on top the mountain, and once Link had defeated the monster inside who was attacking Valoo. Medli stood by Prince Komali and guided him to admit that Link was very brave and gave him Din's pearl for showing that.

Medli's story doesn't pick up until later on in the game when Link is summoned by the spirits on the dead sages to find those who are descended from them. The sage Laruto (a Zora) played a tune on her harp for Link to play to the one who will be awakened. Link goes back to Dragon Roost Island and finds Medli on the edge of a cliff playing her harp. With the tune that Link was instructed to play with the Wind Waker by the spirit, he played. And Medli began to awaken, she began to remember what the tune was like and how she was connected to the sage before her. Now that she has been awakened she must leave Dragon Roost Island, and Komali which she does not want to do, but must fullfill her duties as a sage to give power to the master sword so that Link can defeat Ganon.

Link and the King of Red Lions bring her to the earth temple. There she and Link travel through the temple and help eachother out, her harp becomes an asset in opening up doors, rythmically playing it with Link's Wind Waker baton. Also helping him fly to places, and such. Once the monster in the temple was defeated Medli stayed behind in the temples core to play the song, the Earth God's Lyric giving the master sword partial restoration and protection. That's pretty much it for her story really, she doesn't show up until the ending sequence on Tetra's pirate ship after everything is over. But when you go back to Dragon Roost Island you see Komali outside looking out into the sea holding a flower, when you go back later on it wilts. He was waiting there for Medli's return, he really wanted to give her that flower. Medli had told Link not tell Komali of her wherebouts, I personall think it's kinda sad to see Komali standing there so sullen over where Medli had gone. I'm not sure, he had really matured by the time you returned to Dragon Roost Island, he might have liked her a lot more than just a friend. It is still a really precious relationship though no matter what way you look at it.
